Pomorskie Przedsiębiorstwo Mechaniczno-Torowe sp. z o.o., with its registered office in Gdańsk (PPM-T), stands out for more than 70 years of experience in providing services related to railway track maintenance and repairs.

The company carries out large infrastructure projects, offering services in the field of revitalisation, modernisation and construction of railway track superstructure. Its aim is to provide comprehensive services to the railway sector using modern and proven technological solutions, and to contribute to improving the modernity and safety of railway lines in Poland.

In its operations, PPM-T uses its own equipment, which is continuously supplemented and modernised, ensuring the highest standards required for the repair and construction of track superstructure. The company has specialist track-work machines, including track and turnout tamping machines, ballast profiling machines, rail welding machines and dynamic track stabilisers, as well as its own rolling stock: locomotives and wagons. As part of transport operations connected with the transport of aggregate and track materials for its own needs, the company runs 3 to 5 trains a day. It has well-equipped workshops, its own machining centre and a design and technology office.

PPM-T has a specialised workforce: engineers, surveyors and machine operators with many years of experience in the railway industry, as well as younger employees who hold the required licences and are prepared to carry out assigned tasks. Total employment exceeds 700 people, ensuring a high quality of services and the capacity to carry out large infrastructure projects.
 

HISTORY

The company’s history began in 1954, when the Branch of Mechanised Roadworks in Gdańsk was established to carry out major and routine repairs of railway track superstructure. In 1971, the Track Machine Plant in Gdańsk was established, specialising in the repair of multi-purpose track-work machines. Both units formed part of the restructured state-owned enterprise Polskie Koleje Państwowe and, on their basis, a new company named PPM-T was established in Gdańsk in August 2001.

The combination of the experience of the teams from both plants, in the construction and repair of machines as well as in the construction and repair of railway track superstructure, resulted in the high quality of services that PPM-T continues to be proud of today.

• UNIMAT 09-32/4S Dynamic universal track tamping machine;
• UNIMAT 09-4x4/4S Dynamic universal track tamping machine;
• Multi Tasker KRC 1200 railway crane;
• PRM-400.00 catenary maintenance train;
• Plasser CatenaryLiner 300 catenary works train;
• Crawler/rail-mounted (dual-mode) piling machine, type PV 15 RPR;
• Road-rail vehicle – rail welding machine, type ZDS COPMA V4;
• Road-rail vehicle equipped with overhead contact line (OCL)/catenary/traction repair and maintenance equipment, type ZDS COPMA V4;
• Switch Tilter UIC wagon for transporting turnout blocks.
